accomplishment and exceptional growth, Shelley has received many accolades and a myriad of awards for the work she performs.
From her humble beginnings as an
elementary school teacher and guidance counselor in Slippery Rock, PA, to founding her own business, Springboard Ventures,
Inc., which grooms entrepreneurs for success, she embarked on the next phase of her life, working with individuals and
business groups seeking higher levels of personal satisfaction and development. As President of Springboard Ventures,
Inc., founded in 1999, Shelley has worked with many promising, emerging Houston and Austin based companies. In 2003, she
began accepting speaking engagements on topics ranging from business development; growing sales channels; what to do with
an invention; and starting a business; to her most accomplished body of work to date, a workshop, ‘Living Life Fearlessly’.
From her experiences, she is a sought after motivational speaker, business development consultant and life coach, passionately
working with business owners and individuals on living their potential today.
Shelley serves on the advisory boards of several technology start-ups, has served as a mentor and member of the
Rice Alliance for Technology and Entrepreneurship, the Houston Technology Center and MIT Forum, and has worked with over
a dozen entrepreneurial ventures in various stages of development. She was a founding member of The Greater Houston
Partnership, Emerging Business Council and has served as a judge for the Rice Alliance SW Business Plan Competition and
Texas A&M Technology Transfer Competition and has worked closely with angel and institutional investors in the
entrepreneurial communities of both Houston and Austin. She has spoken at numerous events in the Houston marketplace.
Beginning her career in education, Shelley was nominated as teacher of the year and served as an assistant principal
and guidance counselor for a 1200 student school district. She created and launched the first state mandated program for
gifted students.
Shelley earned two Masters Degrees in Psychology and Educational Administration from Youngstown & Slippery Rock Universities respectively.
